First impressions are important, so when a decision is made to install a new front fence consider all options.

That's the advice Mac's Building Centre owner Trevor McBeath gives customers.

He said it made sense for people to run through all choices, as the right fence could improve the overall look of the home.

``There are an increasing number of very stylish and contemporary fence designs available that will not only complement the style of one's home, but also allow it to be seen to its best advantage," Mr McBeath said.

``We deal with ARC Fences, which carry a wide choice of styles, finishes and colours to suit every type of home."

More and more home owners were choosing steel fencing, which suited all types of homes, from heritage to modern.

Mac's Building Centre, which covers the entire South Coast, specialises in metal fencing and backyard fence renovations.

Mr McBeath established the Kiama business in 1980 as a hardware store but it has evolved and, in recent years, has specialised in metal fence building.

``We sold metal fencing for many years and arranged installation but then went into doing the installation ourselves and took over that side of things," he said.

``We've got a contractor's licence and mostly do domestic work, with pool fences being very popular."

Mr McBeath, who could install a fence designed to suit clients' needs any time of the year, said people thinking about getting a pool and fence should do it now and beat the summer rush.

``The busiest time for pool fences is leading up to Christmas, so this time of the year would be the ideal time to get it done.

``We can install all types of pool fences and specialise in difficult sites and curves and raked panels."
